The
Kobe
Trade Information Office (KTIO) is the U.S. Branch office for the
City of Kobe, Japan based in Seattle, Washington. KTIO's mission is to provide
information for companies and individuals interested in business and travel
to Kobe City.
Kobe is the sixth largest city in Japan with many characteristics that distinguishes
itself from other major Japanese urban cities.
The city of Kobe is nestled
between the lush green Rokko Mountain range to the north and the shimmering
blue water of the Seto Inland Sea to the south. There are many unique charms
of Kobe - the beauty of its surrounding sea and mountains, international cuisine,
Kobe beef, sake, specialty cakes and coffee, fashionable ambience, cultural
assets and many other delights. No matter where you are in Kobe, you will always
feel the resort atmosphere and the richness of this 21st century city.
Seattle Seafair Torchlight Parade
The Kobe Festival Ambassador, Ms. Kozue Hirabuki, participated in the SeaFair Torchlight Parade on July 26, 2008. She is pictured with the Governor Christine Gregoire. Also of note, the 2008 Seattle Japanese Community Queen, Ms. Erina Tami Aoyama visited the Kobe Trade Information Office, pictured with Mr. Kenji Uematsu, the director of the City of Kobe branch office. The Seattle Japanese Community Queen is to go and participate in Kobe's festival parade next year.

Port of Kobe Wins 2007 Most Efficient Terminal Operator Award
The Port of Kobe has received the celebrated award of Most Efficient Terminal Operator in 2007 by the Dream World Cruise Destinations Magazine at the 2007 Sea Trade Cruise Convention.
